Our Apparatus

Just a few shots of our apparatus. A brief explanation of each vehicle is also listed. Enjoy!

Truck 15

Truck 15 is a 2016 Sutphen SL75 featuring a 1,500 gpm pump and 500 gallon tank.  It features a 6 person cab, 75 foot aerial ladder, roll out equipment trays and can carry 1,000 feet of large diameter hose. Other features include vehicle extrication tools, LED compartment lighting, battery powered positive pressure exhaust fan and lighting, on-board hydraulic generator, numerous forcible entry tools, multiple pre-connected hose lines and a full compliment of medical equipment.

Engine 15

Engine 15 is a 1994 HME / 4 Guys truck, featuring a stainless steel body, 6 person cab, hydraulic ladder rack, 1,500 gpm pump and 1,000 gallon tank. This pumper has a tight turning radius that is great for the winding narrow roads in Colington. E-15 is the "first out" engine for structure related calls, and is equipped with most necessary equipment, medical gear and an Automatic External Defibrillator.

Engine 151

Engine 151 is a 1995 International / E-One truck featuring a 1,250 gpm pump and 1,000 gallon tank, 5 person cab, 5kw generator and most essential firefighting tools including medical equipment. The top-mount pump panel offers a better view of the fire scene for the operator.

Squad 15

Squad 15 is a 2002 Ford / American LaFrance quick response truck featuring a 150 gpm pump and 300 gallon tank, 4 person cab, 5kw generator and a wide variety of fire and medical response tools including an Automatic External Defibrillator. This truck is "first out" on most medical response calls, vehicle crashes, grass fires and similar non-structure calls. There is a 9,000 lb. winch that can be deployed from the front or rear, and is useful in many situations.

Boat 15

Our custom built M & S Fire / Rescue boat was delivered in the spring of 2005. It's a 25 foot boat equipped with a wide variety of electronics including a 36 nautical mile radar system and GPS. A unique feature of this vessel is the landing-craft style bow. It can be opened to approximately 70 degrees below the waterline to facilitate bringing on board divers, swimmers or patients. A jet drive motor powers the boat and also gives and impressive flow of over 2,200 gpm through its deluge gun, 5" stortz valve or a 2 1/2" discharge. This is a very versatile watercraft.

Rehab 15

Rehab 15 is a 2001 surplus ambulance from Dare County EMS. Many hours of planning and preparation turned the unit into a fire ground support unit to assist in the health and safety of firefighters during emergencies. Firefighting is extremely exhausting, so Rehab 15 is equipped with specially designed equipment to cool firefighters, provide fluids for rehydration and monitor their vital signs.

Deputy Chief 15

This 2017 Dodge Durango is assigned to the Deputy Chief.  It features VHF and 800 MHZ radios, including VIPER, command center in the rear cargo area and a full LED warning light package.  The vehicle carries a medical equipment and an AED.

Chief 15

This 2009 Ford Expedition is assigned to the Chief.  It features VHF and 800 MHZ radios, including VIPER, and a command center in the rear cargo area.  The vehicle carries a medical equipment and an AED.
