CVFD members logged over 3,800 hours of training in 2018. While there are state required minimum training hours for a firefighter to remain on a department roster, our members went above and beyond throughout the year. Training was conducted on firefighting, rescue, medical emergencies, severe weather response and driver / operator training, as well as several specialty classes that some members attended outside of the department.
Career staff all had well over 100 hours of training with some as high as 3500 hours. However what may be most impressive is that there were 6 Volunteers that had over 100 hours of training. We are so proud of the extra efforts our Volunteers make every day.
Training is what keeps firefighters prepared when an emergency arises, and helps them do their jobs as safely as possible. Ultimately training helps us keep the community safer!
